In my focused audience research, I asked my two female participants a series of questions in order to gain an insight of their preferences. Question 1: Name an artist you like from your favourite genre. I asked my participants to name an artist that they liked from their favourite genre so that I could get an idea about the type of artists my target audience would want to see on a magazine front cover. One participant answered "Billie Eilish" whilst the other answered "Hey Violet". These artists both have unique styles and I plan to take elements from each when creating my own artist. Question 2: Which magazine do you prefer out of the three? I sent my participants three magazines and asked them to choose which one they preferred based on mise-en-scene (layout, model etc.). My first participant chose the Rolling Stone magazine featuring Camila Cabello due to the vibrant red background and eye-catching model pose. My second participant chose Acclaim magazi
Through variations of extensive research, I plan to create a music magazine with a target audience aged 14 to 18. As a Year 11 student, I have access to those whose age ranges from 11 to 16 and also sixth form students with an age range of 16 to 18. This will allow me to collect a wide variety of opinions which will give me a basic idea of my target audience's preferences. For my general audience research, I plan to conduct a survey and for my focused audience research, I plan to conduct a focus group or several individual interviews. The online survey I plan to create for my general research will be sent to several contacts within my targeted age group and will feature questions from genre preference to magazine layouts and colour schemes. These questions will be multiple choice giving me insight into my audience's general preferences and interests. A focus group or individual interviews, for my focused research, will allow me to integrate the opinions of my targ

During the prelim, I learned how to use Adobe Photoshop to construct my fashion magazine and I enjoyed using the program therefore I am excited to use it for this magazine. I’m also looking forward to developing my Photoshop skills, specifically when it comes to editing the main image and manipulating other aspects of the magazine. In my opinion, there is a greater diversity within music magazines as opposed to fashion magazines thus I think there will be a far more interesting variety of real products to use as prompts and inspiration when I am conducting my research. As this NEA is a time-sensitive project, I will aim to put more time outside of lessons during the production of my magazine as I think it will give me more opportunities to better my product. I also want to create more resources for
